JOB TITLE: Dealership Accountant
JOB TYPE: Full Time
PRIMARY LOCATION: 92 Yass Rd, Queanbeyan NSW 2620
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: General Manager/Group Financial Controller
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
To take charge of the day-to-day running of the Accounts Department and take
ownership of the general ledgers, financial management and reporting, including:
- General ledgers – prepare monthly reconciliation
- Monthly management accounts – ensure accuracy and timely completion post month end
- Monthly management reports including Auto Team report – prepare on a timely basis within 10 work days post month end
- Factory/trade/warranty/other receivables – follow-up aged outstanding amounts (30
day+) with the debtors with the assistance of the relevant managers where required on a fortnightly basis - Open repair orders – follow-up action with the Service Manager on a fortnightly basis
- Payroll function – process weekly pay runs, prepare monthly PAYG withholding remittance, monthly payroll tax return and annual payroll tax reconciliation, quarterly superannuation remittance, and end of year payment summary statements.
- Staff commissions – prepare/review calculations
- Payments – review supplier tax invoices prior to arranging payments
- Parts obsolescence – monitor and ensure physical Parts stock take is conducted annually before the financial year end
- Quarterly GST returns – prepare and submit
- Quarterly board papers – assist with preparation
- Annual financial year-end audit – preparation of audit file, reports and reconciliations and liaison with the external auditors
- Annual budget preparation – assist with the process
- Annual FBT return – organise the quarterly vehicle declarations, and preparation of the annual return and its working papers
- Annual workers compensation wages declaration return – preparation
- Annual insurance renewal process – assist with preparation
- Annual floorplan review process – assist with preparation
- Policy and procedure – monitor compliance of existing policy and procedure, and assist with preparation of new policy and procedure
- Maintenance of Chart of Accounts, labour rates, templates, etc.
- Maintenance of the fixed asset registers
- Other tasks as directed
